The HideoutTerms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and The Hideout Game Servers LLC ("The Hideout," "we," "us"), which operates the community and its game servers. The Hideout Companion app is published by Miles Humphries. They cover the thehideout.gg website, the The Hideout Companion iOS app (the "app"), our Discord server and bot (Hideout Assistant) and our in-game city (together, the "Services"). They include our Privacy Policy and our community rules. Section 17 covers the app.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account, signing in, tapping "Agree" in the app or otherwise using the Services, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Services. In the app you are asked to accept the current Terms before you can post, message or upload, and again whenever they change in a material way.
2. Who can use the Services
You must be 18 years or older to use the Services and to play in the city, as a rule of our community. You must also meet Discord's minimum age for your region and follow the Discord Terms of Service. If we learn you are under 18, we may remove your account.
3. Accounts
You sign in with Discord or, in the app, with Apple. You are responsible for keeping those accounts secure and for everything done through your account. One person, one account: do not share your account or sell or transfer it. You can delete your account in the app (Me → Settings → Delete account) or, for staff accounts, by requesting deletion there; see the Privacy Policy for what that removes.
4. Your content and licence to us
You keep ownership of what you submit (tickets, applications, posts, comments, messages, pictures, clips). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce and use it as needed to run, moderate, secure and improve the Services (for example showing your post to other players, routing a ticket to staff, or turning a helpful answer into a support knowledge-base entry). The licence ends when the content is deleted, except where it has been shared with others, backed up, or must be kept for moderation or legal reasons. You promise you have the right to submit your content and that it follows these Terms.
5. Conduct and objectionable content
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not post, send, upload or link to any of the following, in the app, on the website, on Discord or in game:
- Harassment, bullying, stalking, threats or intimidation of real people.
- Hate speech or content that attacks people for race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or similar traits.
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form. We report this to the authorities.
- Pornographic or sexually explicit material, or sexual content aimed at someone who did not ask for it.
- Doxxing: sharing someone's real name, address, phone number, accounts or other private information without permission.
- Content that promotes self-harm or real-world violence, or glorifies real tragedies.
- Illegal content, including real-world instructions for crimes, weapons, drugs or fraud, malware, scams, and selling stolen or illegal goods.
- Spam, unauthorised advertising, impersonating staff or other people, and trading game items for real money.
- Cheating, exploiting bugs, using unauthorised modifications, or interfering with the security or operation of the Services, or attempting to access accounts or systems that are not yours.
The Hideout is a crime roleplay community. Playing criminal characters inside the fiction of the game, such as robberies, gangs and police chases, is allowed as long as it stays in character, follows the rules and does not target real people. Real-world illegal instructions are never allowed, and "it was roleplay" is not a defence for harassment or hate aimed at the real person behind a character.
6. Reporting, blocking and moderation
- Report. In the app, tap the report option on a post, comment, message, account or phone number, or open a Reports ticket on the website or in game. Reporting is confidential.
- Block. You can block a person, account or phone number in the app at any time. Blocked content and messages are hidden from you and they cannot message you.
- Filtering. Posts and messages in the app are checked for clearly prohibited content before they are published, and staff can remove content at any time.
- Our response. We review reports and act on them, promptly. Action can include removing content, warning, muting, suspending or banning an account, and reporting to the authorities. Serious violations are removed first and reviewed afterwards.
- Appeals. Enforcement decisions can be appealed by opening a Ban Appeals ticket; staff may reconsider but decisions are not guaranteed to change.
7. Applications and whitelisting
Whitelist, gang, business, job and other applications are reviewed at the sole discretion of our staff. Submitting one does not guarantee approval, and decisions are final unless staff choose to reconsider.
8. Virtual items, currency and purchases
- In-game cash, bank balances, items, vehicles, properties, characters and "Hideout Coins" are virtual. They have no real-world value, are not property, cannot be exchanged for cash or traded for real money, and may be changed, reset or removed as the server evolves.
- The app does not sell anything. No purchases, subscriptions, coin sales or paid items are available in the app, and you cannot spend Hideout Coins in the app.
- Perks, subscriptions and coins may be bought on our website store. Those purchases are processed by Tebex and are subject to Tebex's checkout terms and the refund terms shown at checkout; they are not refundable except as those terms or the law require. Chargebacks or payment disputes may lead to loss of the purchased perks and a permanent ban.
- Subscriptions renew until cancelled; you can cancel at any time and the perk remains until the end of the billing period.
9. Third-party services
The Services rely on third parties including Discord, Apple, Expo, Tebex, Steam and our AI and infrastructure providers (see the Privacy Policy). Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for their availability or actions.
10. Our property and no affiliation
The Hideout name, logo, website, app and our original content belong to us or our licensors. You may use the Services for your own personal, non-commercial use but may not copy, resell, reverse engineer or scrape them except as the law allows.
The Hideout is an independent community. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, Cfx.re or Apple. Grand Theft Auto, Los Santos, FiveM and iOS and App Store are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.
11. Suspension and termination
We may warn, restrict, suspend or terminate your access, remove content or wipe characters at any time if you break these Terms or the rules, if we are required to by law, or to protect the community. You may stop using the Services at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (content licence, disclaimers, liability, governing law) survive termination.
12. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that AI answers are correct, or that any in-game progress, items or data will be preserved.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Hideout Game Servers LLC, its owners, staff and volunteers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, virtual items or progress, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law permits.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Delaware have jurisdiction, except where the law of your place of residence gives you mandatory rights to another forum.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version. For material changes the app asks you to accept again, and continuing to use the Services after an update means you accept it.

17. The Companion app
The Hideout Companion is published by Miles Humphries. The Hideout community and its game servers are operated by The Hideout Game Servers LLC. These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple's standard End User License Agreement applies to your use of the app unless these Terms say otherwise. We are responsible for the app, its content, support and any claims about it.
